This year the Winter Olympics XXIV were held in Beijing, China. In Beijing they have a stadium called the Beijing National Stadium, which is where the games were held. The games started on February 4th, 2022 and ended on February 20th, 2022. 2,871 athletes attended these games and 91 nations were involved.
During the Winter Olympics there are 15 sports played. Some of those sports include Alpine skiing, Bobsleigh, Cross country skiing, Curling, Figure skating, Luge, Ice Hockey, Skeleton, Speed skating, and Snowboarding just to name a few. When people participate in these games they have the chance to win gold, silver and bronze medals. During this year's events, Norway ended up coming in first place with the most medals. They had 15 gold, 8 silver, and 13 bronze. Coming in second place is Germany, who had 12 gold, 10 silver,
and 5 bronze. In third place was China, 9 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze. In fourth place is the United States with 8 gold, 10 silver, and 7 bronze. Every Winter Olympics has a motto that they come up with. This year’s motto was “Together for a Shared Future.”
